UNIVERSITYCRIMEWATCH.org announces its latest tool for enhancing safety and security on college and university campuses: “Protecting Colleges and Universities” is a Train-the-Trainer program that features a compilation of four ready-to-use programs for officers and deputies as they reach out to college or university staff and students.
Founded by the developers of the Department of Justice’s new Neighborhood Watch program and the Creating A Safer School series, organizers have trained thousands of educators, students and law enforcement officers over the past fifteen years. Our cadre of professional facilitators includes experts in the areas of school safety, public safety and crisis response, providing a unique combination of education and practical experience.
“Responding to Critical Incidents: The First Three Minutes” - Participants will learn how to quickly assess critical situations, isolate themselves from harm, and notify emergency responders as they respond to critical incidents occurring on campus. This course can be delivered to Residence Hall Directors and their staff.
“Awareness and Warning Signs” - This training focuses on awareness and warning signs of individuals who may be at risk for violence, as well as information on victimization and environmental characteristics, and how to develop referral and information systems.
“Crisis Response Basics” - This course outlines standardized safety terms and their proper implementation, focusing on basic crisis response techniques including: shelter-in-place, lockdown, and evacuation. Crisis Response Basics can be offered as a foundational campus safety course for all college and university administrators, faculty, staff and students.
“How to Start a University Crime Watch” - This course features all the elements needed to create, manage and maintain a University Crime Watch on campus including: planning and conducting meetings, recruitment, action-based activities, and more.
Cost: $125.00 per person (Price includes a $75.00 CD-ROM complete with ready-to-use presentations, facilitator manual and a wide variety of forms, tools and templates to enhance the training.)
